Dear NANOG 62 Attendees:
Welcome to NANOG 62! Hosted by EdgeConneX, at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. We are expecting strong attendance at the meeting; with over 675 individuals registered, 193 have indicated they are attending a NANOG meeting for the first time. Of those attending, 149 are also NANOG Members.
This message will provide you with information and brief reminders to help you prepare for the NANOG meeting.

the NANOG meeting hotel space layout.
The NANOG Agenda is also available to download to your local electronic calendar via Guidebook. The app is compatible with iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches and Android devices. To use Guidebook go to
https://guidebook.com/getit/Once the app is installed, select “Download Guides” at the bottom and search for “NANOG 62”. There are a number of features in guidebook this meeting. You can download all or only some of the agenda items that you want, find a map of the hotel meeting venue, search nearby restaurants, connect to social media sites, and you can even take the General and Daily Presentation survey right from your mobile device!
Meeting Check-in
Meeting registration & check-in will be held at the Constellation Foyer, located on the 2nd floor of the hotel. When you arrive at the meeting, please check-in at the NANOG Registration Desk to pick up your name badge, T-shirt, and important handouts.
The registration desk will be open during the following hours:
• Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Monday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The NANOG 2014 Elections are underway. NANOG Members will receive an email on Monday October 6th announcing the voting process is open and a link to cast your vote will be included.
*In order to vote in this election your
membership must be up to date and active by Friday October 3rd at noon Eastern Time. *
Election results will be announced 3:30 PM EST, on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the end of the NANOG General Session program.
Membership and Sponsorship Table
Beginning on Sunday afternoon, the Sponsorship Sales Director will be available during posted hours in Constellation Foyer to answer your Membership and Sponsorship questions. The Membership and Sponsorship table is located near the registration area.

Welcome Lunch– Atrium (2nd Floor) The Welcome Lunch, open to all attendees, will be on Monday at 12:00 p.m. This is a great time to begin the ever famous, NANOG hallway conversations.
Tuesday and Wednesday lunches are on your own.

Hotel Guest Room Internet access is also offered free of charge. Access
instructions will be provided upon check-in at the hotel.
Meeting wireless will be available beginning on Sunday, October 5th using the
following Meeting Network SSIDs:
• nanog-arin-psk – WPA2-personal network utilizing a pre-shared key
• nanog-arin-5ghz-psk – WPA2-personal network utilizing a pre-shared key (5GHz only)
• nanog-arin-1x– WPA2-Enterprise network utilizing 802.1x certificate-based authentication
• nanog-arin-5ghz-1x– WPA2-Enterprise network utilizing 802.1x certificate-based authentication (5GHz only)
When connecting to the 802.1x network, a username and password must be used (you may also be asked to accept NANOG’s certificate). When connecting to the PSK network, only the password is required.
The NANOG conference network is geared for high availability and demonstrating industry best practices. The encryption offered by 802.1x and WPA2-PSK is no replacement for the end-to-end security offered by IPsec, SSL, SSH or similar VPN technology.
