You should know by now that the BoF's are never recorded or archived, due to NDA abuse, heckling, and general "only if you were there" abusement.

Temkin presented a deck about Open-IX status, mentioning a partner program between larger established IXP's to help foster smaller ones (OmahaIX being the first of this sponsorship). Marty mentioned various resources available to these smaller or start-up IXP's that are available on behalf of Open-IX, in particular legal assistance.

Gilmore presented BostonIX, currently based at 1 Summer - no fees.

Eric Rosenberry presented NWAX, an IX based out of Portland that recently migrated from a university sponsorship to autonomous non-profit. They added an extension switch and also are implementing IXP-Manager.

Matt Peterson presented SFMIX, based in San Francisco - they're present in 200 Paul Ave & 365 Main. Additional sites are growing, free.

A number of peering personals also happened, that's about it.

1) for those needing to drive, if you get a car the roads were safe about a 100miles south. Above 34F the ice melted off our cars and while they hit the windshield with a thumb, it wasn't bad. The roads were wet but no ice. Gainesville and Tampa airports are open.

2) if anyone took notes or video of
The peering bof some of us would love to see them.

3) if you do drive use the middle lane as they are salting and sanding those first on the hwy. we took I75 south.

Good luck & see you all next NANOG!
Thanks Betty & everyone for a cool NANOG!

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder, NANOG 60 will host it's first ever 'Ice' Reception at 6:15pm this evening in the Atlanta Ballroom on the 7th floor of the Westin Hotel.  There will be appetizers, Beer and Wine.  Please stop by!

Also note, after the reception the SunDial Lounge will be open for hotel and NANOG attendees where drinks and a limited menu of food items will be available for consumption.

Finally, for dinner plans, Dan Golding sent around a few restaurants that are open this evening including Ray's, The Hard Rock Cafe and Hooters.

We will see you all at 6:15pm tonight!

Colleagues:

As many of you still in Atlanta with us today are aware, the Winter Storm "PAX" has forced all local restaurants to close.  On behalf of NANOG, we welcome you to join us for a light lunch at 1 pm in the Peachtree Ballroom Foyer.  Also, please plan to join us for the NANOG Ice Reception in the Atlanta Ballroom at 6:15.  We will have appetizers, Beer and Wine.  We are working on further details yet today and will send along as known.

Sincerely
Betty
