Hey folks attending NANOG 97, my former employer (Ziply Fiber/ AS20055) is the connectivity sponsor and the neighboring ILEC to the conference hotel and they have graciously allowed me to offer an in-person Central Office tour of a large central office about 15 minutes away from the show venue to show what is happening in large retail aggregation and former phone company spaces.    We have 20 slots so if anyone is interested in an evening tour.    We will meet in the hotel lobby promptly after nanog and we will hop in some ride share vehicles and head up there.

I will need a liability waiver signed by folks who want to go (there is no NDA requirement).   Note that pictures *are* allowed of most of the tour.  I will order up some transportation options for those without transport.

Highlights of this tour:

1. New colocation build out (AC powered) using old CO space
2. Large scale FTTP aggregation (20k + customers)
3. Phone company history
1. Recently decommissioned Lucent 5 ESS that at one point had ~98,000 lines on it
2. Lots of old SONET/TDM transport gear if you are in to that
3. Huge -48v DC plants and cool big batteries
